Immigration arrests at New York courthouses up 900 percent, advocates say

The number of immigrants arrested or detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency at courthouses in New York has gone up 900 percent in 2017, according to the New York Daily News .
Last year, the advocacy group Immigrant Defense Project documented 11 arrests or attempted arrests in New York. That number went up to 110 this year, mostly in New York City, the publication reported.
