ROME - Seven-time champion Rafael Nadal overcame a poor first set and a partisan crowd to beat Fabio Fognini 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 and reach the Italian Open semifinals on Friday. The crowd at the Foro Italico was decidedly behind Fognini, Italy's top player, and Nadal was under pressure when Fognini won five straight games to cancel out a 4-1 deficit and win the opening set. OTTAWA - The country's annual inflation rate cooled slightly last month - but at 2.2 per cent, it stayed hot enough to hover above the two per cent midpoint of the Bank of Canada's ideal range,
Statistics Canada's inflation reading for April came in a little lower than the March number of 2.3 per cent - which had brought the rate to its highest mark since 2014 - and matched the 2.2 per cent figure for February.
