KINGSTON SPRINGS, Tenn. - Kristen Gillman won the U.S. Women's Amateur for the second time Sunday, beating Alabama teammate Jiwon Jeon 7 and 6 in the 36-hole final at The Golf Club of Tennessee.
“It's really cool to be able to have it on there again,” Gillman said about her name on the Robert Cox Trophy. “Everyone who was playing in this tournament was picturing their name on it at the end of the week, so it's really nice to be able to do that and accomplish that.”

TANGIER, Morocco - Lionel Messi won his 33rd title with Barcelona on Sunday to become the most successful player in the Catalan club's history. Barcelona beat Sevilla 2-1 in the Spanish Super Cup as Messi overtook Andres Iniesta, who had 32 titles when he left this summer for the Japanese league. Ousmane Dembele scored a late winning goal with a blistering strike from outside the area. The 21-year-old France winger stunned Sevilla's defense with a right-footed shot that hit the underside of the crossbar in the 78th minute.

Top-ranked Nadal defeats Tsitsipas in straight sets to win Rogers Cup

TORONTO - Top-ranked Rafael Nadal is the winner of the Rogers Cup.
The veteran Spaniard defeated unseeded Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece 6-2, 7-6 (4) in the men's singles final at Aviva Centre.
It's Nadal's fifth ATP title of the season and his fourth career Rogers Cup crown.
Tsitsipas beat four top-10 players to reach his first Masters 1000 final, but he had no answer for the top seed.
Earlier, Finland's Henri Kontinen and Australia's John Peers won the doubles title with a 6-2, 6-7 (7), 10-6 win over Raven Klaasen of South Africa and Michael Venus of New Zealand.

Simona Halep beats Sloane Stephens, wins second Rogers Cup title

MONTREAL - Simona Halep has won the women's Rogers Cup for a second time.
The world's top-ranked player defeated third-seeded Sloane Stephens 7-6 (6), 3-6, 6-4 in a see-saw battle that featured 15 service breaks at IGA Stadium on Sunday.
The 26-year-old also won when the event was last held in Montreal in 2016.
It was a repeat of this year's French Open final in which Halep beat Stepens in three sets. Halep has won her last six meetings with the 25-year-old American. Stephens, the reigning U.S. Open champion, is now 0-8 in matches against No. 1-ranked players.
