Wall Street snaps brief losing streak U.S. stock indexes perked higher yesterday after nearly a week-long lull, and the Standard & Poor's 500 rose for the first time in five days. Industrial and technology companies helped lead the way, as broad swaths of the market climbed. Nearly two stocks rose for every one that fell on the New York Stock Exchange, and the price of crude oil clawed back some of its sharp loss from Wednesday. The S&P 500 rose 7.71 points, or 0.3 percent, to 2,636.98 and snapped its longest losing streak since March.

PHILADELPHIA - Brandon Ingram made the winning 3-pointer with 0.8 seconds left and finished with 21 points in the Los Angeles Lakers' 107-104 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday night.
Julius Randle and Jordan Clarkson each added 16 points to help the Lakers snap a five-game skid.
Joel Embiid scored 33 points, and Ben Simmons had a triple-double with 12 points, 13 rebounds and 15 assists for Philadelphia.

The line is the smallest it's been in more than a decade. PHILADELPHIA - Brandon Ingram scored 21 points including the game-winning 3-pointer with 0.8 seconds remaining to lead the Los Angeles Lakers to a 107-104 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday night.
