What's the worst lead in hockey again?
Two-zip.
The hockey world was reminded of one of the sport's oldest cliches Wednesday as puck dropped on the men's Olympic tournament in South Korea and the upsets rolled in.
The U.S., which was sitting pretty after 40 minutes, faltered down the stretch against hockey minnow Slovenia, coughing up a 2-0 lead and eventually losing in stunning fashion, 3-2 in overtime. “When the guys were trying to make the the team, they were playing harder,” Desjardins said after a...

The Russian enigma is the biggest question of the Olympic men's hockey tournament

6 monthes ago   |   By

PYEONGCHANG - To choke or not to choke - that is the Russian question as the Olympic hockey tournament begins.
Call them what you want, Russians, Olympic Athletes from Russia , the narrative doesn't really change: Can this team, this country, finally gets its act together and win Olympic hockey gold?
