The Iowa state Democratic Party announced Friday it accepted a limited recount request from the two top candidates in this month's caucuses: Pete Buttigieg and Bernie Sanders.
An unsigned statement from the state party said it will recount 10 precincts requested by the Sanders campaign and 14 by the Buttigieg campaign, for a total of 23 unique precincts.
The party accepted the entirety of Sanders' recount request, according to data it released earlier this week. However, the party did not accept the entirety of Buttigieg's campaign request. His campaign requested a recount in 54 precincts...

Beyond the presidential candidates themselves, the Nevada caucuses Saturday will test Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez as he tries to keep an already messy primary season from devolving into chaos.
“We are working around the clock,” Perez said, predicting a smoother process than the debacle that still leaves the Feb. 3 Iowa caucuses without certified results. “We're all going to school on the lessons of Iowa.”

Looking to Nevada, will Dems avoid mistakes of Iowa?

UNDATED - Nevada Democrats are hoping to avoid a repeat of the chaos that ensnared the Iowa caucuses, as voters gather across the Silver State on Saturday to make their presidential preferences known. Iowa's process cratered this month following a rushed effort by state Democrats to deploy a mobile app for caucus volunteers to report results. Democrats in Nevada were going to use the same app developer as Iowa did, but quickly sidelined those plans. They will still be relying to some extent on technology to assist in counting and reporting results, though, and like Iowa, they will have...

LAS VEGAS - As a diverse crowd filled a college student union this week, they swapped stories of seeking refuge in the U.S. or living in households that were a mix of U.S. citizens and people in the country illegally. They hoped to share their experiences with presidential candidates seeking support ahead of Saturday's Nevada caucuses.
But only one White House hopeful showed up: Tom Steyer, a billionaire long shot. Most other campaigns sent surrogates to the event, sponsored by Amnesty International, while the candidates themselves appeared on cable television or stumped in other...
