Sen. Sinema signs off on inflation reduction act
Senator Kyrsten Sinema signed off on Democratic legislation that would provide new spending to mitigate climate change and extend health care access while taxing corporations. She agreed to the bill upon removing a provision that would've closed the carried interest loophole, which benefits wealthy hedge fund managers, and adding to the bill billions in drought relief funds.

Republicans vow to fight Inflation Reduction Act after Democrats secure votes
WASHINGTON - Democrats say they have secured the votes to pass major legislation called the Inflation Reduction Act after they struck a deal with Senator Kyrsten Sinema.
Senator Sinema demanded changes to the bill in exchange for her vote, forcing Democrats to cut a provision that closed a tax loophole allowing hedge fund and investment managers to pay lower taxes.
“Senator Sinema said she would not vote for the bill, not even move to proceed unless we took it out,” Senator Chuck Schumer said.
