Berklee College professor's music played at George H.W. Bush funeral

A Berklee College of Music professor had no idea his music would be played at President George H.W. Bush's funeral Wednesday - he found out in a text message from a friend.
“It was a complete surprise to me... I was thrilled,” said Kevin Siegfried, a professor at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
The piece titled “Lay Me Low” from the series “Shaker Songs “ was performed Wednesday morning by the Armed Forces Chorus as part of the musical prelude preceding the reception of the president's casket.

President Bush came from an era where honor, respect, dignity, patriotism and pride was the way of life.

WASHINGTON - It wasn't just a salute to a president, it was a tribute to a generation.
President George H. W. Bush was remembered during more than two days of ceremonies and services in Washington as the last president forged from World War II, a leader dedicated to military service, bipartisanship, responsibility and hard choices.
